Two day ‘Academy Lit-Fest’ organised at the IAS Academy Mussoorie

Mussoorie’s Happy Valley is a hot-spot for the next two days with authors to the Left and authors to the Right. Never before, has the hill-station seen such a gathering of writers, authors, poets, columnists and well known artists come together under one roof.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration plays the perfect host for a  two day ‘Academy Lit-Fest’ inaugurated by Lord Meghnath Desai who spoke to a jam packed session of Foundation Course and Phase Three Officer Trainees with an amazing grasp on the current political scenario of the country.

A galaxy of authors from home and abroad are being hosted at the Academy including well-known artist Usha Uthup who will be performing in the Cultural Evening at the Sampoornanand Auditorium today evening. ‘A Book Fair’ has also been organised on the Academy lawns to provide all those present, books written by invited authors.  Hindi Littérateurs including Uttarakhand’s Padmashree Leeladhar Jaguri, Govind Mishr, Jaiprakash Pandey, Laksmishankar Bajpai and Mamta Kiran are also part of this two day ‘celebration of the written word.’

Local authors Stephen Alter, Bill Aitken and Ganesh Saili shared a plenary session on ‘Literature and Writers,’ on the first day of the Lit-fest.

The two day session will conclude with a tribute to ‘Icon of Himalayas, the man with the Golden Pen,’  Padmabhushan Shri Ruskin Bond in conversation with the Director Mrs Upma Chaudhry.
