Coming March, Big-B to shoot in Uttarakhand

If all goes as planned, then, very soon Uttarakhand will play host to Big-B or aka Amitabh Bachchan who might shoot in the hill-state for his first bilingual movie, coming March.

Renowned Director turned actor, SJ Suryah and Amitabh Bachchan will share the screen for Big-B’s first Tamil-Hindi movie. The unit was in the hill-state for a three-day marathon recee of possible locations in Dehradun, and if finalized, will begin shooting in March 2019.

Produced by Uttarakhand born Om Prakash Bhatt, South superstar SJ Suryah, Director T Tamilvannan, Sujay Shankarwar who along with Dr. Anjali Nauriyal met Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat to consider shooting in the State.

Telling us more about his project, an elated Bhatt said, “This is going to be the first time that Bollywood superstar Amitabh ji would act in a South Indian bilingual movie and if all goes well, we will shoot for about 40 days at a stretch in my home state Uttarakhand.”

Satish Sharma, who has been promoting the hill state as a film destination for decades now said, “The State Government has to be more proactive if this film is to be shot here. A crew of 250 members along with Big B and South superstar SJ Suryah for over a month, is sure to bring a lot of good publicity to the hill-state.

For once, the onus lies squarely on the State Government to provide the requisite support system so that the big banner film can consider Uttarakhand as their ultimate shooting destination and the State too can benefit from an initiative of this mega scale.

With the likes of Marathi blockbuster ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa‘ and ‘Crime Patrol‘ on Sony to his credit. OP Bhatt upcoming film ‘Milan Talkies‘ Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia is slated for a February 2019 release, post which he will begin work on this untitled project.
