Dateline Dehradun: An ‘oath’ ceremony was organized at Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) in Jolly Grant to strengthen democracy under voter awareness initiatives. Thousands of students and faculty members from all colleges of the university took an oath to vote.
At SRHU’s Himalayan School of Science and Technology, Himalayan School of Management Studies, Himalayan School of Pharmacy, Himalayan School of Yoga Sciences, Himalayan School of Biosciences, Himalayan College of Nursing, and Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, students, faculty, and staff of medical and paramedical disciplines took an oath to vote and inspire those around them to vote with a sense of responsibility.
Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, President of SRHU, emphasized the importance of everyone’s contribution to this festival of democracy and the necessity for every voter to use their vote to strengthen democracy.
Dr. Vineet Mehrotra, Director of Student Affairs, provided essential information on voting rights and the necessity of voting to all the students present. Additionally, voter awareness hoardings have been placed throughout the university.
