CM Dhami assures full support to the 7th Edition of VoW

Dehradun, 6 July: A delegation of Valley of Words, led by Sanjeev Chopra, Retd 1AS, Festival Director; Satish Sharma, Editor of Garhwal Post, media partner of VoW; Jyoti Dhawan, Ex-Principal of Him Jyoti School; Rashmi Chopra, Chairperson of VoW; and Bikram Singh called on the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his office and apprised him of the run up to the seventh multi-city edition of VoW with the signature event at Dehradun on 18/19 of November this year.

Chief Minister complimented VoW for their outstanding work in the field of literature and arts, and was happy to note that VoW had been entrusted with providing the technical support to the G-20 Literature Festival at Auroville under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. He was also happy to note that VoW has tied up with prestigious institutions like the Dev Sanskrity Vishvavidlaya, Haridwar, The Daly College Indore, Chennai International Centre and National Library Kolkata for city editions across the country.

Rashmi Chopra briefed the CM about initiatives on promotion of arts and crafts, while Jyoti Dhawan apprised the CM of the International Mother Languages Day, Iti Natya and the school outreach programme. “Dehradun’s place on the literature map of India has been assured by VoW,” said Satish Sharma.

The ACS to the CM, Radha Raturi was present on the occasion, and the VoW team requested the CM to make a steering committee under her leadership for the smooth conduct of the festival.

The VoW team presented the CM with a bouquet, a copy of the The Book Review and Tadbhav (publications brought out by the Information Department for the last edition of VoW, besides prize winning books, including the first edition of ‘We The People of Bharat’ by Festival Director Sanjeev Chopra.
