On the occasion, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said, “tricolour is the symbol of nation’s pride, identity, spirit and unity. The country and sacrifices made for the country earn respect through nation’s flag and motivates youth towards patriotism.” The Chief Minister was expressing his views at the flag hoisting function of the newly established 125-foot tri-colour at the Uttaranchal University of Friday.
After terming youth as future of the country, Rawat said that the country would surely follow the path of development if they work with zeal and enthusiasm. According to him, “Uttarakhand is better known as an educational hub and students from across the country come here for study. Plans are in the pipeline to constitute “Bharat-Bharati” organisation with an aim to present India’s culture through folk programmes so that the people are acquainted with country’s culture at one place.”
State Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA S.S. Pundir, Uttaranchal University Chancellor Jeetendra Joshi, Uttaranchal University Vice President Anuradha Joshi and Vice Chancellor Rajat Singh along with others were present during the function.
