Dateline Dehradun: The third national conference of the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists, YouthCon-2024, was organized at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) Jolly Grant.
Approximately 500 delegates and researchers from across the country participated in the conference, which focused on emerging new techniques in anesthesia. Young doctors and researchers in the field were introduced to new advancements.
The conference was held in the Mother Teresa Auditorium of the Nursing College under the auspices of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at HIMS Jolly Grant and the ISA Uttarakhand State Chapter.
The chief guest, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, President of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), stated that anesthesia techniques have evolved over time. The purpose of such conferences is to allow doctors in the field to share their experiences for the benefit of patients. SRHU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal emphasized the need for an increased number of anesthetic specialists to ensure timely treatment without issues.
ISA National Secretary Professor Sukhinder Jeet Singh Bajwa encouraged participants to share their experiences and learn as much as possible. The chairperson of the organizing committee, Dr. Gurjeet Khurana, welcomed the young doctors and explained the conference’s objectives. Secretary Dr. Parul Jindal mentioned that around 500 participants from across the country attended the conference. During the workshops, experts from the Himalayan Hospital and across the country provided hands-on training to the participants. Dr. Deepak Dwivedi discussed point-of-care ultrasound, and Dr. Vikas Saini and Dr. Tanvir presented advanced techniques in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.
