In a windfall, three films by FTII students have won top honours in the Non-Feature Films category in the 65th National Awards.

It is a matter of pride and joy that FTII’s three student films  have bagged India’s most respected and prestigious honours for 2017—-National Awards. Unlike all others, National Awards matter the most because they are truly representative of the country’s creative diversity and are most competitive ; they are selected from amongst dozens in their categories,” said Bhupendra Kainthola, Director FTII.

In recent years TV films have done exceedingly well not only at home but also in awards overseas. Such laurels bring the spotlight on FTII’s TV courses which are steadily gaining importance and drawing more and more students at the entrance exams. Two of the three Awards have gone to films made by students of TV wing of FTII.

FTII joins them in celebrating their success. The credit also goes to the teachers and staff for their contribution in this success.

Arun Kuppuswamy (Dir : MONDAY), Medhpranav Powar (Dir : HAPPY BIRTHDAY) and Swapnil Kapure (Dir : Bhari Dupari) have done FTII proud by carrying forward the rich institutional traditions of excellence, industry and creativity,” said Bhupendra Kainthola, Director FTII while congratulating the award winning students.
