DOIWALA, On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, students of PEN-India School wished Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat and also made an appeal to provide a more spacious space for the better functioning of the school.
Currently Pen-India School is running from a small rented shop in Bhaniawala which in insufficient for the proper functioning of school. Though the students have shown keenness to attend school and study, but the space constraint for growing number of students seem to be an issue.
Mr Anoop Rawat, the Founder and Chairperson of PEN-India Foundation informed, “all the children hail from extremely poor families living in Sapera Basti of Bhaniawala, no one is willing to provide a rented space to the school because of the family background of these kids.“
This year though the school received many admission applications but lack of space made it impossible for a new batch to start. Mr Santosh Budakoti, Co-founder and Director of the Foundation added, “huge number of admission applications are a symbol that PEN-India School is on the path of achieving it’s aim of providing free and quality education to the underprivileged students and in educating their parents about the importance of education.”
On the occasion of Teachers Day various programmes were organized and the school students showed their gratitude towards Ms Ritu Sharma and Ms Deepalika Negi, the two volunteer teachers of PEN-India School who received gifts from their students.
