Dateline Dehradun: The Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) in Jolly Grant organized the alumni meet ‘Milaap-2024’ hosted by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Former students shared their experiences at the event.
The alumni meet ‘Milaap-2024’ was inaugurated in the Chaukhamba Auditorium of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in front of the portrait of the founder, Dr. Swami Rama. The chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, addressed the alumni, highlighting that such meetings provide students an opportunity for knowledge sharing. He emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s university regardless of their current institution. Dr. Dobhal encouraged the alumni to maintain contact and guide the new students.
On this occasion, students from BPT performed beautiful dances as part of the cultural activities. Additionally, competitions such as housie, paper dance, and know your neighbor were organized for the alumni, with prizes awarded to the winners.
Alumni from the batches of 2003 to 2013 shared their experiences. The event was a mix of joy from reuniting with friends and the nostalgia of reliving old memories. Some recited emotional poems, while others shared stories of their successes.
Dr. Rambir Ghulelia, in charge of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, welcomed all the former students and wished them a bright future. Also present on the occasion were Vice Principal Dr. Anuradha Kusum, Dr. Kiran Bhatt, and members of the Alumni Association, Dr. Atul Agrawal, Dr. Vaibhav Agrawal, Dr. Amit Sharma, Dr. Praveen Rawat, and Dr. Aashish Negi.
