UTU to be renamed Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Technical University

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced that Uttarakhand Technical University be renamed as  Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Technical University. He inaugurated the newly constructed building of the University, upon unveiling the newly constructed “Shaurya Deewar” he also launched University Academia-Industry Forum during a visit to the University on Friday.

He laid stress on university students getting ample opportunity to interact with industrial establishments to understand industry demand. He called for adaptation towards rapidly changing modern techniques and said that it is now mandatory to keep pace with technology in the era of change.  Chief Minister Mr Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid stress on skill development, he said residents should be motivated for increasing skill development and generating self-employment. He appealed to students to motivate residents towards skill-development, a department formed to transform one lakh youths as skilled youth by 2020 . He said students can devote their time in the villages and visiting schools to get the students trained in skill development which would be helpful for them to stand up economically in the society. Chief Minister also felicitated meritorious students during the function.

State Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA S.S. Pundir, UTU vice-chancellor Dr U.S. Rawat, registrar Dr Anita Rawat, CM’s technical advisor Dr Narendra Singh were present on the occasion.
